Tonight I went to the home opener of the new professional Bangor Lumberjacks baseball team. It was a lot of fun – it really reminded me of a couple years ago when the Bangor Blue Ox played here. In both cases, it’s great to see people having fun with baseball right in my backyard (literally, since it’s played at one of the baseball fields at the University).
The atmosphere was great. Even though the Lumberjacks lost, I bought a cap and had a lot of fun watching the games and the little promotions between innings. There were even fireworks after the game.
Bangorlumberjacks.com has information about the team, as well as links to webcasts on WHCF.
One last thing: there were a lot of jokes spread around tonight that I guarantee will be old after a couple of games. Comparisons to player Stephen King and the writer (who lives in Bangor) happened one too many times. A few too many people broke out in song when Jude Voltz stepped up to bat. Enough with the lame jokes, already. They’re lumberjacks and they’re OK.
So I’m into this whole psychology thing, y’know, and I’m starting up with sociology too with a 3-week May Term course (half done). Every once in a while I tend to think about things in a very weird way. Maybe it’s creative. Does that mean creative means weird? Yup. OK, now I’m just being weird.
[ahem]
I present to you the case blogs of the three ladies of TSS. Reading over their entries it amazed me how much their tones, post topics, and such were similar. I came up with three explanations of why this could be the case.
1. They all have the same occupation because they have similiar writing styles.
2. Since they work together, they have started to resemble each other’s writing styles.
3. Since one (Megan) started before the other two (Morgan and Sarah), they probably based what to write on what the others before them had written.
Which do you think: 1, 2, or 3?
It’s not earth-shattering research, just something that struck me as a little interesting.
Television rots my mind. I hate it.
I’m (still) sick of reality shows, I’m sick of copycats, I’m sick of lame T&A humor, I’m sick of annoying daytime talk hosts, I’m sick of people laughing at stuff that really isn’t funny, I’m sick of millions of people cheering at someone who has less talent than some of my friends. Now is the season finale of Smallville… at least that might be worth watching… if they don’t overdo it.
I’ve been spending some of finals week updating my site and changing its focus. As you may have noticed, the main focus is no longer my blog – it’s broader. But don’t worry; the blog is still the most important part of the site.

Everything else should work fine. If it doesn’t, as always, let me know. Thanks!
And with a few pencil strokes in CS, my second year of college is done.
You know, I think it was a good movie. There was just too much happening in the movie and too hot of a theatre to catch it all. It’s a movie I have to watch again. And a tip for future viewers of it: don’t go in thinking it will be like the first one. It’s completely different. Overall, I really liked what I saw (except maybe the big focus on romance… that was probably a little overdone). Beautifully shot/designed/animated movie, too.
“More history coming soon!“
Why yes, yes it is.
I wonder if that was intentional. It’s one of the funniest things I’ve read for a while.
