A good Apple decision

One of the things I really like about iChat that I can’t seem to find on other AIM clients (AIM itself, Trillian, Adium, etc.) is the ability to have status messages. Not away messages… status messages. Messages that would appear while you’re online. Sure, you could put something in your profile, but there is no real notification that there’s a specific message. Take, for example, if I wanted to say “I’m bored, lemme know if you want to do something!” or “I’ll be going to the Union at 10 to see the concert if anyone wants to come.” You don’t really want to put an away message up, because you’re actually at the computer… these would just come on as little notes while you’re available online. Yahoo has these built in, and it’s really too bad that AIM doesn’t.
