"There’s an energy from the first hours at GiveCamp that lasts through the end of the weekend. Seeing people coding at 2:00 a.m. Watching a non-profit representative smile as they see their project being built before their eyes. It’s those moments – and those team meetings – that make this an unforgettable weekend."

I couldn't have said it better- the energy and enthusiasm to create something techy and great- is truly incredible. Thank you, Justin, and 100+ developers for your commitment and desire to serve. Your skill and expertise is greatly appreciated by all the nonprofits who benefited.

[...] Justin Russell: “Over the course of the 48 hours’ worth of work at New England GiveCamp, the team leaders for each project gather every few hours at a corner of the work floor. The meeting is simple; GiveCamp co-organizer Kelley Muir calls out the name of each of the 30 non-profits represented at the weekend, and the respective team leader lets the group know if there are any barriers they think may stop them from completing their project by Sunday afternoon. They also give a one-word status: green, yellow, or red.” – Read his full post. [...]

Heather: That's probably the best possible idea for in-image credit; I've seen a couple of sites do that, and it's a lot less obnoxious than a huge watermark. It might pose some a design problem for sites that publish multiple images in a post (the bar might disrupt the aesthetics of the post), but if I ever do find that I need a very visible way to brand images, that "banner" option will be the way I go.

I'm also interested to see how Pinterest users will respond to any rise in watermarks or branding. Will they still pin those kinds of images? I think you're right that cropping would be too much of a process for most people; I wonder if they'll shrug off the watermarks or if they'll decide they clutter up a board.

In the interim, why not add the "banner" yourself to your images? In other words, instead of a watermark mucking up your design, why not run a strip along the bottom of each photo as part of the image that identifies your or your site? It would make the image size a little larger, but would carry your branding through repins until Pinterest offers this kind of (interesting) option. I doubt anyone would go through the trouble of cropping the strip... and if they did, they wouldn't have been affected by the branding you describe, anyway?

Justing thanks for good review .

Im totally agree about not properly working web site of Jspenney. I getting disappointed when I want to order something- always appears items what not in sale. And this I can know only after choice of size and colors and etc. I have not idea why sizes, colors and items shown if customer cannot purchase them. Very bad shopping experience. Their designers should visit other internet shops- Lands end or Cabela's to see how they work.

Unfortunately, I doubt this will be the last of these events.

Since the re-election of George Bush, the Republican party has made hatred a standard tool for political gain. With Palin and the Tea Party, we add to this hatred an overuse of second amendment rhetoric. It's even gone so far as having people openly calling for violence at Tea Party rallies while the Tea Party's leaders smile on the sidelines.

Now we have Tea Party leaders who have frequently supported this hate-filled and violent agenda, pretending this is unexpected. It's also pretty frightening to look at some of the Tea Party websites. Most have some canned statement about the incident on their homepage, but the forums and twitter are already back on the offensive.
